The 1st June 2020 saw new Electrical Safety Standards come into force in the privately rented property sector. If you have an existing tenant then the new rules will apply from the 1st April 2021 but all new tenancies will have to adhere by these new rules from the 1st July 2020.
The Government has made these new rules to keep tenants safe, the new rules are similar to current Gas Safety rules.
